1  > / General DIY / SUNN HELP? on: February 07, 2009, 10:31:12 AM
I have a sunn beta lead,
and the reverb knobs are almost completely torn off and wanted to replace them (lucky me)
and the 30k s curve pots are almost IMPOSSIBLE to find,
can someone tell me if theres a suitable replacement?
what is the 4th prong FOR!?
2  > / Effects and Signal Shapers / on: December 10, 2008, 12:47:20 PM
maybe,
but it doesn't go up AND down
just up or down,
you can choose how much it goes up or down
3  > / Effects and Signal Shapers / zoom 3030 metallic setting on: December 09, 2008, 07:50:48 PM
not exactly sure if this question is appropriate for this board,
but

does any of you guys have experience with the zoom 3030?
i got one for free from my friend and most of the settings are crappy (damn sure sucks tone like no other),
but i really love the setting it calls "metallic"

it starts with the note your playing and either sweeps up or down with this really cool syth/electronic sound

i was wondering if anyone knew what this effect might actually be called, so that i could find it in a single effect box that doesn't suck the tone completely

sooo
bypassed the mix and repeat limiters,
but then by the time i got the delay time pot on
it no longer does any echo at all,
will it still have the guitar sound go through the pedal even if the chipped was fried by the solderin iron heat?
or is it still savable?

no, that makes perfect sense,
thank you
6  > / Circuit Bending and Modifications / creating a line out on keyboards on: November 19, 2008, 01:54:27 PM
back with more newb questions,
sorry I couldn't find a google answer

is there a way to make a line out on a keyboard/random device by using the wires going to the speaker,
or would there be another way to do this and leave the speakers intact...

thank you for your time

alright, alright,
i'm sorry for all the newb questions,
but i've almost got this thing done but i need a lil more help,
you see,
it bypasses fine
and it works as a feedback pedal fine,
but the pedals have to be plugged in backwards to the fx loop (i'm assuming the "send" line should go to the "input", and the "return" should come from the "out"... just makin sure, this problem seems veddddy veddddy odd)
and the toggle switch does nothing but make the feedback loop louder or softer... which i imagine it due to a poor solder in the toggle tough it doesn't appear to be so, but is the least of my confusions,
and zee pot
it does NOTHING

i've checked, n rechecked my wiring but i can not for the life of me see any problem with that
so..
i dunno if i just have a messed up switch,
or what,
if some could tell me,
or even post a schematic of what i'd need to do to be able to toggle the feedback loop with such a set up (using the original krok set up, but the 6 being the input, and the 3/8 being the output) that'd be great,

thank you for your time
i love this board

sorry if this has been posted before,
but everything's wired in the right places n such as far as i can tell
but
it doesn't work when bypassed, or only when its not bypassed,
hard to tell cuz the send and return aren't working at all,
and
when the clean signal is going through,
the pot works like a volume knob,
and if i flick the toggle switch,
the sound also stops

can anyone help please?

Recheck your wiring.  Use a multimeter to make sure nothing is shorting out to the case.

-Colin
i dont have a multimeter, but would if somethings shortin out the case would that explain such things as, the return and send working backwards though wired correctly?

man freakin tell us if you find out,
i've been lookin at interviews and he's not to clear,
i know for sure the only real "gear" they use is cheap behringer/radio shack mixers, and dod delay for their drum machine live (recording they prefer tape delay),
but i think its just oscillators,
besides the guitar and bass,
and the contact mic'd metal/gongs
11  > / Circuit Bending and Modifications / Oh God, Frequency Analyzer HELP PLEASE! on: November 08, 2008, 03:44:26 PM
I'm sorry if I'm postin this in the wrong place,
I'm pretty new to this forum.

I got my Frequency Analyzer from ebay not to long ago,
I've only used it twice, maybe three times
and it's stopped working.
Maybe I underestimated its sensitivity
(I transported it in a suitcase in a set up with other pedals stuffed with sheets to protect it.. may've been roughly handled)
But it will not effect the sound.
The direct out works,
and it bypasses just fine,
and when i have heavy distortion pedals infront of it you can hear somewhat of that cold modulated sound, but the knobs do nothing,
except the high/low filter,
you can kinda hear the high cut out a bit.

Does anyone know whats wrong?

I opened it up and everything looks fine as far as my amateur eyes can tell...
