sorry for 3 posts in a row! so im working on the smper thing from radio shack, http://www.instructables.com/id/Looper/i think ive seen some posts about it on here, but cant find them. anyways, id like to control the input volume to be recorded, the volume played back, annnnnnnnnnnnd.... not change the volume being passed srait through. but, since the input/ouput on the radioshack chip are the same spot im not sure how to go about this. i was thinking just a pot for each side but path of least resistance and all that. posibly having the input be routed through a pot when im recording only? but then the input wouldnt be going to the speaker while im recording. i supose im going to have to build some crazy buffer switching thing to make this work. so not worth the trouble. unless yall have an idea?

allright, i breadboared the circuit this morning. the volume is good now, but im mostly geting clicking, the speed of the clicking, in some settings is affected by how hard i it the strings, i am getting fuzzy ness that kindof swells in one position, but any where else the clicking is making the effect unusable. i can hear awe gainy tremelo under the clicking but the cclicking is over whelming then. is this how the circuti should sound, or is mine still fuckedup. thnaks

i just bumped into a robot on youtube, id love to build onee....there a liitl outa my price range.
any ideas where to start? is say it uses a toy chip for the pitch modulation, i new i should kept that robot toy!!!!
thanks

a compressor might do the trick
what sean is saying is that 386 is boosting the signal to make the other chip do what you like, but as your signal gets quieter, its not pushing the chip hard enough.
so by incresing the voltage at b+, you get more volume witch pushed the hex inverter and you can put a resistor to limit the output back to normal.
hope this helps

thanks guys!
that layout is great, i just got some strip board, so ill give your layout a whirl.
i was wondering if i needed a fuzz/boost to get enough signal out of it, but if you say there is no volume drop there must be something wrong in my circuit.
i only have tants for the 10uf, but those should be fine, box caps for the rest.
is there a strip layout for the bit crusher/bug crusher circuit around?

try and find a schematic, if you can.
theres generally a point where the signal is fed into the delay part of the circuit, after the buffer. if you can put a switch between the buffer and the input of the delay, it should give you trails with out adding new reapeats.
if your pedals repeats dotn change pitch when you turn the length knob, i dount youll be able to mod that. it probibly is using a timer to triger the sample instead of actually changing the speed of it.
hope this helps!

i tried to build this little circuit on here: http://beavisaudio.com/projects/ArmageddonProcessor/its called 567 modulator, its about half way down. i think it might be related to the thing modulator. anyways i put it together and im geting very quiet out put, and except when i have it set very specifically, the guitar doesnt affect the output. it produces clicking, and as i rotate the 100k it turns into a tone that shifts in pitch, once i get past the tone there the guitar kindoff affects the volume of the signal, and if i adjust the other knob it follows the notes of the guitar, somewhat. i couldnt find a 180nf cap, so i ended up using a .1u, could this be the reason the output is so low and its not quite doing what it should do? thanks?!

a photocell doesnt just convert light into a signal.
a photocell is a resister, than when light is aplied to it, allows more current to flow through it.
some times people use these to control differant types of oscillators, witch are capable of producing audible signals and controlling filters amongst other things.
hope this helps
try googleing optical theromin

word,
i have the tails switch, and i tried about the feed back-loop thing, but when i get infinate repeats they just get louder. alot louder
im gonna get a dano pbl for more experimentation in the loop department
any ideas on the wet signal loop? i was thinking of using the out from the pedal to the volume pot. maybe some switched jacks to remove the loop when not in use.
ill post some pics when i get it done in its currant state.
