that's definitely a step in the right direction.
just to clarify what i was talking about - i meant a space where, for instance, you could make a page called "Colin's Creations" (excuse the cheesiness) and upload a picture and description and people could comment on it... but now that i think of it, that would probably be easier done inside the actual forum... so on second thought, maybe a forum dedicated to people's finished works would be more appropriate.

cool - how about a place for us to post pics/info about our archaic gear?
i've got an old tube audio generator - outputs sine/square with a huge range. i also have a really old militaristic oscilloscope, which i can't figure out how to use.

looks right to me. i usually use anywhere from 100? to 10k?, depending on how bright i want the LED (i like to use high output LEDs so sometimes a bigger resistor is necessary.)
that looks really cool though, did you use a specific program that has all those components to lay it out?

thanks para.
i realized that the 3900 is designed to run off of a single power supply, amongst some other differences. someone on the electro-music forum suggested taking a look at some of Ray's other AR designs which run off a TL072, so i'm going to try to adapt this scheme to one of those.
i like this design because of its simplicity and lack of logic chips. the only drawback is that i'm not sure if this is retriggerable, but if i can get it to operate properly then i'll see what i have to work with.
thanks again, vito

i'm fairly sure that no matter what method you use, an LFO waveform will come out the same (except for maybe some minor inconsitencies with leading and falling time, etc...)
but i think a 555 should work fine. i've never done this on an SK so i can't tell you for sure. breadboard it and let us know!

hi, i'm breadboarding an AR generator as per the schematic here: http://www.musicfromouterspace.com/anal ... _PG12.htmlthe main problem i'm encountering is that it will attack as it should, but will not release or decay. i'm testing it out right now with an LED, and after the attack it just stays on. interestingly, when i remove R31, it decays and stays off, but not at the rate it should - it decays at the same rate no matter what R37 is set at. when i put R31 back in the LED turns back on with no attack. it should be noted that i'm using a TL082 instead of the LM3900 that Ray calls for, though i don't think that should make much of a difference. i also tried an 072 with no luck. does anybody have any idea what might be going wrong? this is unbelievably frustrating. many thanks, vito
