i made one of these and it's not working at all. the switch is oriented properly, and everything seems to be connected to the right place. the only thing i can think of it being would be the switch not working, but this is the 2nd switch ive used and its still not working. any ideas?

Can you go into more detail?  Is it only working as a TB loop?  Is any signal passing through at all?  Is it just not feeding back?  Is it in a box?

hi
last week i finally found the time to build one of these. then i went to the rehearsal room to check it out but ...well, it just wouldnt work. It only sounds "normal" in one position of the TB option, then I push the 3PDT down and -after a huge POP- no sound at all. The FL option doesnt work at all.

I used this http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/dia ... attery.gif
to set all the connections up.

Thing is, as I didnt know where the "board grounds" are, I simply soldered a wire to the base of the 500K pot, acting as a circuit ground (I guessed). I didnt know what the hell I should solder to the ground (sleeve) of both the send and return jacks so I soldered both to that pot "ground". Maybe that's the reason, and I should leave those sleeves not-connected. The sleeves of the input & output jacks are soldered to the pot "ground" too. I'm starting to think this might be the whole issue. Apart from that, as I use mono jacks for my guitar, the sleeve and ring in the output jack are the same electric point so my pot "ground" is the "-" in my battery as well.........  ?¿?
I'd really like to know what's going on and what I'm doing wrong here, so.. any input will be so much welcome :)

thanks so much guys

(oh and.. is there any topic about getting more volume from a fuzz face easily? I modded my Roger Mayer Classic Fuzz into Fulltone '69 specs and, well it sounds better and more versatile, but I need it to have MUCH more volume)

thanks again!
have a nice day,

Javi,
Spain.

The diagram you posted is for a true-bypass effects box... if you're trying to make a feedback loop, I wouldn't look at that for too much help.  Look at the schem posted in the first reply to this thread (just updated now).

i m an argentinian living in mexico, so excuse me for my english.
i really like this feedback loop effect! but... someone could explain me how to do a truly beautiful disaster pedal? it s kind of a feedback loop with a fuzz right?
well, thanks a lot for your help!

A truly beautiful disaster, per my memory and bad guessing, is a single transformer fuzz in a feedback loop (like, for example, the bazz fuss)

with a potentiometer (maybe 5k) between the voltage source and the transformer, among some other tweaks.

Where would be a good place to purchase the materials?

awesome. thanks.

now, I have another question. The TSA DBA has a knob that controls the amount of feedback, correct? If I wanted to add one of those, how would I go about doing it?

also, I see two stomp switches on the pedal here, but the materials only call for one.

Sorry for all the confusion, but I've never built anything and this would be my first project.

edit: or is that second switch I see the 500K pot?

There is already a pot on there...   it is the feedback pot. Not a stomp switch.

Ok thanks. I didn't realize what a pot was until I researched it a bit more, plus the picture was kind of deceiving.

Whats the difference between these jacks: http://www.smallbearelec.com/Detail.bok?no=87

and these: http://www.smallbearelec.com/Detail.bok?no=90

and does it effect the way I have to wire the pedal? I purchased the jacks on the top rather than the ones on the bottom.

Very little.  One is just enclosed, it's a matter of preference which you want.
