passive feedback loops...

is there any thing i can add to a passive feedback loop along the lines of a low pass filter? i want it to remain completely passive... i want to have as many knobs to tweak while not venturing into active elctronics with this one circuit. i have tried putting a tone pot connected to the volume pot like on a guitar and bass... nothing...

help, please...

What kind of pot did you use?  Capacitor?  Did you wire it as a variable resistor or a potential divider?  With the cap to ground?  Inside the feedback loop?

i used a tone pot from a strat and an tone pot from an esp bass. both were 500k. not sure of the cap value. the caps wer soldered to ground. i wired to the input lug of the feedback level pot( 1m linear taper).

It's strange that it's doing nothing at all, it should have SOME effect on the feedback loop.  What if you wire  from the return jack (or is that basically where you have it?)  Even though that shouldn't make too much of a difference...  Try a .1uf cap if you have it.
