Hi
I dropped my M-Audio Trigger Finger on the floor with a USB cord plugged in. Now it gets power from the USB plug but doesn't no midi messages get recognized. I opened it up and the one of the connections on the USB plug is loose, seems it ripped of from the PCB.
Do you guys know of a trick to solder a plug like that back on, since it totally ripped off and won't stick just by heating up the connector...
Any help is much appreciated!!!!
Look on the circuit board and find a place that the connector is normally soldered to. Just follow the traces until you find another silver spot. Solder a wire from the USB jack to that point. If the joint that got ripped off is in the middle of a trace like this
---------0-----------
rather than at the end of a trace

You will also need to put a wire from the connector lug to a PCB pad (silver spot) that used to be connected on the other side (if that makes sense).
