First day here, and all I can say is this forum is awesome!

Yo,

I'm a total nub when it comes to electronics, but I've been working hard to learn the basics. Recently I read the Forrest Mims III "Getting Started in Electronics" and digested probably about 30% of it, but it's all starting to make sense! Well, Kind of.)

In the past I've really been a paint by numbers guy. I've successfully built 6 channels of 500 series mic Pres from Classic API, lot's of pedals from GGG, and a few other odds and ends from the prodigy-pro.com/diy site, but after skimming around here the little I have, I can see I'm going to spend many, many hours learning.

I just ordered a bench top power supply to hopefully be able to troubleshoot my MFOS  noise cornucopia, as when I plug it in to my modular, my other modules like for instance the lfo, and any other leds that normally would blink all stop, and hold constantly lit.

Anyways, this was my long winded introduction, and my sincere thank you so much for existing!!!
I have so many questions to ask!!!

Welcome to the board!

Does the cornucopia affect all other modules or just the ones it is plugged into?

How are your power supply busses oriented? Do the various modules share a solid ground reference?

Hello!

I looked at my wiring and realized that I had a few things reversed, so after rearranging the wires from the pots I plugged it in, and still no light from the led, but the other modules seemed to be operating independently just fine, but as soon as I plugged a cable into the cornucopia and into anything else, it affected everything, causing all lights to freeze on, and no audio came out.

As far as the PSU I have the Modular World Eco rack, and I bought a doepfer style cable from Analog Haven to power the unit. I believe all the modules do share a common ground, but truthfully that's just a guess. http://mwmodularworld.blogspot.com/search/label/Product

Welcome to the site!  There's no reason not to learn about electronics.  Knowing a bit of theory just makes it all that much more fun.
