I think i've managed to make a stripboard layout of what i described above. Please could someone give it a quick check over to make sure it will work? I think the theremin section might be wrong.

edit: just relised the fist one i posted was wrong so i've changed it.

Is it possible to modify the optical theremin circuit in this thread to output bass frequencies? Is it as simple as just changing resistor values or would it require something more complicated?

To change the frequency of a 555 based oscillator just experiment with the timing resistor and capacitor. (P1 and C3)
