what is DI?
i need to figure out a way to get more simultaneous inputs for my G4Powerbook, short of buying an Mbox. My school has these little USB to 1/8", so I'm thinking that if i could get two of those plugged into my two USB slots, I could have three "line ins"

what about multiple inputs? ideally i'd like to have the ride, bass and snare all mic'd with contact mics

i'd go for an audio interface with multiple inputs connected to your computer.
