i'm jamie. greetings!
my is circuit bending, and i am also learning how to build some basic circuits such as vco, etc. the cult classic "atari punk console" is something easy to throw together. or a 555 based oscillator, i can breadboard in about 10 seconds. lol!
so far i am self taught, yet i want to learn as much as i can. i am just now learning to read schematics, etc. all in all, i've been into electronics for about a year now.
i have done most of the popular circuit bends to the casio sk1, the casio sa-2, pk-1 and so on. i have also done some things that i like which i have not seen a lot of people do yet to these.
so, i feel that i have a knack for all this. i just need to keep learning and doing!
i aspire to build an electronic keyboard synth from scratch soon! i also aspire to learn some essential basics, like how to build different vcfs, etc. going to school for this is always on my mind too.
nice to meet you all!

Solar circles here - I'm Caleb, interested in visual glitching as a backdrop for the band, we make industrial/sludge/hardcore. Anyone else here into visual glitching? I'm buying a mini video mixer and hoping to bend it and use it to mess up some analogue video, last thing I 'bent' was a simple toy keyboard from a charity shop, but it never went further than searching out contact points. Any tips/help would be much appreciated! http://www.myspace.com/solarcirclesOh and this is what I want to bend: http://www.simaproducts.com/support/files/SED_2_Manual.pdf

Welcome to the site! Be sure to also check out some of the hosted information, that Colin has kindly allowed members to deposit here. I've been slowly been adding some resource here (or just find it under the "Hosted Sites" button in the top left. http://www.experimentalistsanonymous.com/ve3wwgWarren

Hello,
This is Myonus, I am a seasoned musician from the 80's. After retiring from a performance based career I shifted my skills to producing, engineering and sound design. The incorporation of computer technology lead me into a new aspect of creative sound design focusing my skills with visual audio editing and production. I spent most of my years at this learning the art of "seeing" audio and the ability to edit and transcribe audio digitally has become somewhat of my secret identity as a "Super Hero of Sound"
In my early college years I was an aspiring electronics engineer. However putting myself through college in the 90's, without financial assistance left me, well let's just say....hungy.
Taking jobs in furniture refinishing I was able to use my understanding of chemical composition to develop stronger paint resins and try my hand at experimental art.
The when indulging in chemicals became too much to injest, I went to work for a computer company and a technician group.
Now, Im a washed out engineer, with alot of knowledge, but no focus to put it to a financialy rewarding career.
I am on a journey now to a remote galaxy somewhere in the vacinity of Betelgeuse. Where I will embark on an amazing journey of audio/ visual recklessness.
My first step will be to engineer my multi-weapon device. A hand crafted multi-effect designed to attach to any analog audio signal and route through a series of effects, filters and modulations. My first step will be to create the multi-channel stutter/ panner that pans over 6 channels. This will create the 360 degree circle effect that will feed 6 seperate amplifiers and speakers. There will be a variable pot that controls the speed of the feed and a variable pot to controll the sustain of each channel. Each channel will also have a bypass so I can alternate series. This would be a all or nothing switch For example operation would be only 1 channel heard at any time.
operation examples: normal: steps 1 2 3 4 5 6 => repeat.....
partial mute: steps 1 X 3 X 5 X => repeat......
another partial mute: steps X 2 3 X 4 5 => repeat........
Basicly this is a analog sequencer over six channels. My guitar will be the audio source.
I can only hope that this community will accept me and offer assistance for my quest. I have some fantastic new ideas, but lack the finalizing engineerinng skills to make it all work. This website truely is a goldmine of resources and with everyones help; I will be successful.
I hope to meet all of you soon.

Welcome to Electronics Anonymous! A lot of folks here, with varying aspirations and experiences. I've personally made a career of computer programming and aspire to musicianship and electronics engineering. Colin has kindly allowed me to resource some of my own notes, experiments and observations here at: http://www.experimentalistsanonymous.com/ve3wwg/There's a few attempts at engineering notes there too. My most pressing project de jour is to build a ss guitar amplifier from scratch, with JFETs in the preamp. It now looks like I may be using power FETs in the finals as well. Warren

Hello! My name's Andy and last night I finished my first ever DIY project, and by that I mean I made something that worked first time! It's a looper/switcher thing, 2 loops and loop A has a feedbacker switch that so far only sounds nice with a chorus pedal... One footswitch switches between loop A and B and the other is bypass/on. I'm going to attempt to attach a picture or two now - I'm too embarrassed by the mess inside the pedal but you get the gist I'm in an acoustic duo: http://justbychanceband.comI've not found a use for pedals in that yet... I have been lurking and learning by reading this forum and a few other sites like the Beavis Audio one and intend to make more fun toys to make noise with. This intro is looking a bit long... Yes, so "hello" and I shall see you around!

Hi my name is Andrew. I've been coming here lately and figured I would become part of the community. I generally build guitar pedals and have been wanting to get into more areas such as circuit bending and little synths/sequencers. Lately I've been breadboarding simple circuits such as oscillators using the 555 and atari punk console of course. My build skills are decent but I yearn for more knowledge contained here!!! I look forward to adding to this forum as well!
