I want some advice on two things.
#1:  Getting more delay time from a Boss DD-3.
#2:  Adding a hold switch to a DD-3 like a PDS style looper.

#1:  http://www.effector13.com/#PEEP
http://www.analogman.com/dd5.htm  (scroll down to exp pedal mods)

What I want to do is add a jack for an exp pedal or a homemade peep to the DD-3.  I think this works by adding resistance inline with the time pot (thats how I would do it).  However, my question is, will increasing the resistance of the time pot increase or decrease the overall delay time of the pedal?  I want to increase the overall delay time of the pedal about 2 sec (maybe more, I want it lo-fi).  If it doesn't could someone fill me in on how to increase delay time?  BTW, I do not have the dd-3 schematic, but I do have the DD-2 schematic (so I have some direction).

#2:  Besides increasing time I want to add a hold switch like a PDS style looper.

Here is how I would do it, tell me if you have a better way:
I would use the switch to bypass the circuit and short the input to the output so that the guitar signal is passed uneffected.  At the same time increase the feedback value to make infinite repeats (I think a trimpot would have to be used for fine adjustment).  If there is a better way to do this let me know. (there has to be since the DD-3 has a hold mode.)

thanks for your time,
Jason

After studying the schematic, I found that the clock circuit is an 7400 and some caps.  I still am trying to figure out exactly how it works.  Second, the main controller chip has a hold function.  From looking at the schematic, I am assuming that all you have to do is ground the hold pin to put the delay in hold mode.

Thanks for all the replys you guys posted, they helped alot!

Thats interesting, could you please let us know how your experiments turn out ?

Thanx
