Banana. (binding post, 5 way binding post)

Banana cables are tension fit cables that allow for rapid connectivity and can support cable ranging from single conductor uninsulated to insulated balanced connections. I find banana an easy to implement and satisfying to use format.

Benefits:
Simple.
Inexpensive.
Cables are durable and easy to build/repair.
Stackable (no Y type splitter required)
Can also be used with UHF jacks.

Drawbacks:
Often unshielded.
No native jack switching to allow normalization.
Some binding post designs are vulnerable to shearing.

As shown, 5 way binding posts are prone to fail at the cable hole in the shaft. The first series depicts a (previously repaired) single failure and repair method using a dual gang plug as a jig to hold the broken shaft in place for soldering.

This second image depicts a dual failure the occured in route to a gig while the unit was housed in a case that did not provide frontal protection, the lugs were lost so this one awaits replacement. A better option for unprotected travel is to the right, though you lose easy implementation of bare wire, pin and forked connector.
