UHF connectors are a threaded connector designed for shielded unbalanced cable runs, typically into the medium radio frequencies.

Benefits:
Robust format.
Center socket will accept banana plug.
Moderate pricing

Drawbacks:
Somewhat uncommon.
No native jack switching to allow normalization.

It is not uncommon to find the UHF plug adjacent a binding post in the 3/4 inch on center format to allow interconnect with the dual gang banana plug.
